The project, in collaboration with Sustainable Eel Group SEG, wants to increase public awareness on the situation of the eels, endangered species. After reflecting on the importance to show the animal with a more iconic image, I searched inspiration in medieval bestiaries, which depicted all Earth’s creatures as important, rich of value and meaningful, enriching their representation with golden details and hidden meanings. The choice of working with silkscreen wants to recall that ancient and manual process that confers so much importance to the miniatures. The work has being completed by a handmade gold-plating process.
